The Fun: Summer is in full swing downtown! The city just wrapped up its massive Fun Fourth Festival, but the energy hasn't slowed down. Downtown Greensboro is continuing to host the expanded TowneBank Summer Concert Series. Plus, if you love outdoor yoga, the Parks and Recreation department is hosting "Parks and Yoga" sessions throughout July at various community parks, keeping the city moving and relaxed.

The News: Keep an eye out for vibrant new public art! Local student artwork is currently being installed to decorate traffic signal boxes throughout the downtown footprint, adding an incredible splash of community-driven color to the Gate City.

 Winston-Salem

The Fun: The "City of Arts and Innovation" is living up to its name this month. The world-renowned 2026 International Black Theatre Festival kicks off downtown on July 26th, drawing thousands for theatrical performances, poetry jams, and film screenings. Looking for something high-energy? Head over to Bowman Gray Stadium (the "Madhouse") for action-packed weekend racing, or catch country star Trace Adkins' 30th Anniversary Tour there in August!

The News: Kaleideum (the city’s interactive science and arts museum) is hosting a highly anticipated adult-only evening event, "Kaleideum After Dark: Boots & Brews," proving that the city's newest attractions aren't just for kids.

 High Point

The Fun: High Point is all about community gatherings this summer. The High Point Museum is stepping up its interactive historical programming, offering everything from live blacksmith demonstrations to "make your own ice cream in a bag" for National Ice Cream Day! Looking ahead, foodies should mark their calendars for August 29th for Savor High Point: Around the World in a Bite, a massive international food and vendor festival downtown.

The News: Animal lovers, take note! Guilford County Animal Services is bringing the community together with a "Paws in the Park" event right here in High Point later this month, promoting local pet adoptions and community resources.

 Burlington

The Fun: It is Carousel season! The city is gearing up for its massive annual Burlington Carousel Festival at City Park. The festival will feature a Kids Art Tent hosted by Alamance Arts, Artisan Alley vendors, roaming stilt walkers, and best of all—free rides on the historic Dentzel Carousel, train, and boats all weekend long!

The News: The Burlington Sock Puppets are currently putting on an incredible show at Burlington Athletic Stadium. With affordable tickets and zany minor-league baseball promotions, it remains the ultimate summer evening destination in Alamance County.

 Mebane

The Fun: "Positively Charming" Mebane just wrapped up an incredible Independence Day celebration, but the community calendar is still packed. The downtown footprint on Clay Street remains vibrant with the weekly Farmers Market and ongoing community shopping events.

The News: Mebane's downtown restaurant and brewery scene continues to expand its local footprint. It's becoming a top destination for foodies from both the Triad and the Triangle who want a great meal followed by a walk down historic, brick-lined streets.

 Liberty & Asheboro (Randolph County)

The Fun (Asheboro): Bicentennial Park in the heart of downtown Asheboro is keeping the summer lively with outdoor community concerts and events. And, of course, the massive North Carolina Zoo remains the ultimate weekend trip for families across the entire state.
