Hey, Greensboro! I'm Bryan Williams, and as a 28-year resident of this amazing community, I love sharing what makes it a special place to live. That's the whole idea behind "The Triad Advantage"—showing you the best of our city.

It's a beautiful weekend, and there is so much happening as we get ready to honor our veterans. Whether you're a long-time resident or just starting to explore, here are my top 5 picks for this weekend.

Bryan's Top 5 Picks for the Weekend

  1. My Top Pick: The 2025 Veterans Day Parade

o When: Saturday, Nov. 8th @ 1:00 PM

o Where: Downtown Greensboro (starting on N. Elm St.)

o Why: This is what community is all in one. It’s a fantastic, family-friendly event to honor our local heroes.

  1. For the Sports Fan: Greensboro Swarm vs. Maine Celtics

o When: Friday, Nov. 7th @ 7:00 PM & Saturday, Nov. 8th @ 6:00 PM

o Where: Novant Health Fieldhouse

o Why: Our G League basketball team is back in action! This is such a fun and affordable way to see high-level, professional basketball.

  1. For the Foodie (and Drink) Enthusiast: Blandwood Bourbon Festival

o When: Saturday, Nov. 8th @ 1:00 PM

o Where: Blandwood Museum

o Why: If you're a fan of bourbon or just want to enjoy a beautiful fall afternoon at a historic site, this is for you.

  1. For the Whole Family: Movie in the Park ("The Outsiders")

o When: Saturday, Nov. 8th @ 7:00 PM

o Where: LeBauer Park

o Why: There's nothing better than a free movie under the stars. Bring a blanket and grab some snacks.

  1. Get a Head Start on the Holidays: The Holiday Market

o When: All Weekend (Fri - Sun)

o Where: Greensboro Coliseum (Special Events Center)

o Why: It's never too early, right? A huge market with tons of local crafters and vendors.

And finally, to send you into the weekend with a laugh (or a groan):

Why did the scarecrow win an award?

Because he was outstanding in his field.

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.
